Debut album from Oklahoma City experimental electro-pop project Kite Flying Robot. Those who saw the band's live show when it was based out of San Francisco might recognize a few tracks. Some moments reflect Kite Flying Robot's more current synthpop sound, but make no mistake, this album is an audio account of KFR's beginnings. Think post-rock acoustic guitar with unconventional progressions, warm and contrasting against electronic beats, haunting piano and vocal harmonies, occasional heavy organ or string arrangements, horn sections and synth power riffs. A little bit of joy, a bit of sadness, and a couple dancy tracks that explored a sound that was yet to come. Fan favorites tend to be Good Boy, The Hitchhiker, and Traffic Lights. Additional artwork included with full album download.
